Innovation to “Mount Up” for Equus Live
Call for final entries for the Equus Live Innovation Award
Thursday, 5th September, 2013; Equus Live 2013, the inaugural indoor equine event, today called for final entries for the Equus Live Innovation Award ahead of the impending September 20th deadline.
The countdown is now on for the unique indoor equine event which will take place in The Event Centre, in Punchestown Racecourse, Co. Kildare from Saturday 2nd to Sunday 3rd of November. The first all indoor event of its kind to be held in Ireland, Equus Live will showcase the best of the Irish equestrian offering.
Sponsored by Enterprise Ireland, The Innovation Area will play host to ten shortlisted products that are either new or have not yet been launched to the market. The displayed items will then be put under scrutiny by a panel of the Equus Live Judges such as Brian Purcell (judge on TV’s The Apprentice), serial entrepreneur and Dragon Gavin Duffy and Senator Mary Ann O’ Brien. Those in attendance will have a unique opportunity to see the products in their infancy.
Entries are divided into two categories, Veterinary & Nutrition and General Equine Products. Shortlisted entries will be announced October 7th. Those that make the shortlist will be asked to send in a more detailed proposal to be presented to the panel of judges early November.
Commenting at the impending deadline for submissions for the Equus Live Innovation Award, Amber Byrne said; “The Equus Live Innovation Award is a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs in the equestrian world to showcase their products to an ideal audience. Shortlisted entries will be displayed live at the event in November offering strong exposure for each of the final products. The winners of Equus Live Innovation Award for both categories will win a bursary and mentoring from the best in the business. We encourage those who have not yet submitted their entry to do so before the September 20th deadline.”
According to Garrett Dee, Senior Development Adviser Consumer Food of Enterprise Ireland, “Continuous investment in innovation and export development is crucial for the continued global success of Irish industry and so Enterprise Ireland is very pleased to sponsor the Innovation Bursaries at Equus Live 2013. Enterprise Ireland recognises the importance of the equine sector and its potential for jobs and exports. Sales for the equine sector, that is, companies supplying the needs of all those engaged in the equine business, reached €248 million with exports amounting to €142 million in 2012.”
The winners of each category will be awarded with a bursary of €800.00 and will be offered mentoring advice under the following headings; design, legal and PR.
