Dane Rawlins Announced for Equus Live

Equus Live today announced International Dressage trainer and rider Dane Rawlins will give a dressage Master Class at the all indoor event in Punchestown Racecourse. The event takes place on the 2nd and 3rd November 2013. Director of Dressage at Hickstead and a member of the Irish team competing at the up and coming ECCO FEI European Championships 2013 in Herning, Rawlins is sure to entertain the Equus Live crowds.

Dane’s father was a boxer competing and training to international level. Dane grew up around many of the great boxing names, including Freddie Mills and Henry Cooper. His sister wanted to learn to ride so he went with her to Dulwich Riding School in London aged 9. His sister didn’t take to horses but Dane was hooked. If it hadn’t been for Dulwich Riding School Dane would most likely have been a boxer!

Dane switched competing allegiances from Great Britain to Ireland in 2011 and is competing for Ireland at the Europeans on Lady Harris’s Sydney. Dane founded the British Young Riders Dressage Scheme [BYRDS] and the British Dressage Premier League. He is also a helicopter fanatic and amateur pilot.

Joanne Quirke, Co Founder of Equus Live commented “I’m really looking forward to seeing Dane’s Master Class. Not only is he one of the very best in the sport he is also I believe quite a character so should appeal to all audience levels.”

Other master classes at Equus Live will include Eventer Oliver Townend, Show Rider Katie Jerram and Show Jumper Clem McMahon.  For more information see www.equuslive.com
