The Irish Field and Equestrian Stars Confirmed for Equus Live 2013

The Irish Field this week confirmed they are Media Partners for Equus Live 2013. The event taking place in Punchestown Racecourse on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2013 is an Equine Experience promoting and showcasing all breeds and equine disciplines.

Leo Powell, Managing Editor of the Irish Field commented “We are delighted to support this exciting new venture. It is encouraging to see an event promoting the Equine Industry, bringing together the sport horse and thoroughbred under one roof. We are looking forward to working with the Equus Live team helping them promote and attract visitors to the event.”

Equus Live also announced this week Eventer Oliver Townend, top Show Horse Producer Katie Jerram, Para Olympian Helen Kearney, show jumper Clem McMahon and side saddle supremo Susan Oaks are some of the stars confirmed to perform at Equus Live 2013.

The GAIN/Alltech Arena will host master classes and demonstrations over the two days. Eventer Oliver Townend is one of the leading stars attending Equus Live. His CV includes wins at Badminton, Burghley, Tattersalls and a European Championship team gold medal. He will give a master class to Irish riders at Equus Live and will spend time in the speaker’s corner giving tips and insights into the world of Eventing.

Katie Jerram rides and produces horses for HM the Queen and judges show horses around the world. Amongst her long list of accolades are Supreme Horse at the Royal Show, HOYS, RIHS, and champion hunter at Royal Windsor. For those looking for advice on showing and producing horses to top level Katie will certainly have some tips worth listening to.

If you didn’t make the London Olympics don’t worry as Helen Kearney winner of three medals at the London 2012 Paralympics and Ireland’s first European Para Equestrian medal winner will demonstrate dressage freestyle to the Equus Live audience.

Susan Oakes is the current world record holder in side-saddle high jumping, clearing 5ft 8ins on Brandy and Red at Aintree racecourse last July. Susan is a familiar face not only in the show ring but hunting and point to pointing having won a side-saddle point-to-point race, Dianas of the Chase at Melton Mowbray in England, with her thoroughbred gelding O’Muircheartaigh.  Susan will demonstrate this traditional art in various disciplines at Equus Live and will also attempt a Guinness World Record.
